It’s a tradition to hand down Perpignan garnet jewelry pieces from Mother to her daughter(s). These garnets are based out of a specific location in Southern France and due to mining restrictions, they only exist in antique jewelry pieces like this one. If you decide to keep her, I hope she also gets passed along within generations of your family. A jaseron red gold chain has 7 round rose cut garnets and dangling underneath are in dagger shaped garnets. Her true base color is a vibrant pink, but she also casts deep purple and a blood red in indoor lighting. The foil underneath along with those sparkling rose cuts bring another dimension to such a romantic and powerful look. The dagger cut gems also swing freely, they bring so much movement and shares all of the light and sparkle. I had her evaluated at my local antique jewelry historian and she had confirmed it to be antique. It was sold to me as circa 1900s my research couldn't find any further examples. I cannot stress how uncommon this piece is. She’s also been evaluated by a gemologist and has confirmed these are almandine garnets. Estimated 5 total carat weight. These are estimated, as to get the exact carat measurements it would require removing them from their settings. Her condition is so lovely, I want to keep it that way!

Condition: surface scratches on the garnets. The large dagger garnet gemstone has a small gap at the top. The smaller round garnet (next to the large) has a very tiny chip in its center, only visible by 10x magnification. Gold links show age and that they have been worn over the century. Dents on the back, very typical to see with age.
